Round Table in Tbilisi Discusses Turkmenistan’s 2024 Motto
Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia Holds Round Table on Magtymguly Fragi
On January 23, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia organized a round table to commemorate the 2024 motto in Turkmenistan – “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.
The event was attended by journalists from prominent Georgian media outlets such as the Georgian First Channel, “TV-24”, “The Georgian Business Week”, news agencies “News Day Georgia”, “Inter press news”, online media “Geoecohub”, newspapers “Resonance”, “Multinational Georgia”, “Free Georgia”, “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
During the round table, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia, D.Seyitmammedov, highlighted the significance of celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, an influential poet and thinker of the East. He described Fragi as the founder of Turkmen classical literature, whose work has contributed to the treasury of world culture.
The Ambassador also spoke about the planned celebrations and events dedicated to this important date. Moreover, he mentioned the recent publication of a book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, titled “Youth is the support of the Motherland”, which reflects on the results of 2023.
The round table participants stressed the importance of such events in further strengthening the cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Georgia.
Among the notable attendees, Honored Journalist of Georgia, Professor Badri Nachkebia, emphasized the vital role of cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the modern Turkmen-Georgian interstate dialogue.
Liana Ghorgholiani, Editor-in-Chief of the online edition “Geoecohub”, expressed her belief that the planned anniversary events will play a significant role in expanding the study and popularization of the rich literary heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, both within Turkmen and world literature.
The round table concluded with a screening of a documentary film dedicated to Magtymguly Fragi.
