German Ambassador’s Conversation Raises Concerns about Potential Conflict with Russia
The tensions between Germany and Russia have escalated following the publication of a 30-minute audio recording of German officers, including senior members of the German Air Force. In the recording, the officers were heard discussing the possibility of sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine without Germany’s intelligence and technical support, sparking concerns about a potential conflict with Russia.
The discussion in the audio recording also included talks about the technical capabilities of Taurus missiles to destroy the Crimean Bridge, which was built on the Crimean Peninsula following Russia’s illegal annexation of the region. Russian officials, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, have expressed their concerns about the conversations in the audio recording.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mariya Zakharova has called for an explanation from Berlin regarding the discussions in the audio recording. Despite the growing tensions, German Ambassador Lambsdorff has remained silent on the matter, leaving many questions unanswered.
