Sakarya kicks off 5th Pamukova Quince and Local Products Festival

The 5th Pamukova Quince and Local Products Festival kicked off in Sakarya with a variety of local products, handicrafts, and food and beverage stands on display. The festival was organized by Pamukova District Governorate and Pamukova Municipality, recognizing the district’s significant contribution to Turkey’s quince production.

The opening ceremony featured a performance by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality’s mehter band, followed by remarks from Sakarya Governor Rahmi Doğan. Governor Doğan expressed gratitude to all those involved in promoting the hard work of farmers and adding value to their products. He emphasized the need to market and sell these products both domestically and internationally in order to reward the efforts of producers.

Governor Doğan highlighted the abundance and beauty of the region, stating that the diverse range of products grown there deserved recognition on a global scale. He encouraged the branding and promotion of local products to create added value and support the growth of Turkey’s agricultural sector.

In addition to Governor Doğan, AK Party Sakarya MPs, local officials, and representatives from various organizations also spoke at the festival. Awards were presented to winners of various competitions, including Pamukova quince, highland strawberry, Pamukova grape, quince dessert, strawberry jam, and artichoke dish competitions.

The festival, which showcases the best of Pamukova’s agricultural products and local crafts, will continue for one more day, providing visitors with the opportunity to sample and purchase these unique items. The event serves as a platform to celebrate the region’s rich heritage and promote the growth of local businesses.
