From May 6, visitors to Veszprém, European Capital of Culture, can take advantage of a new discounted Veszprém-Balaton EKF24 day ticket introduced by the MÁV-Volán Group. The 24-hour ticket offers access to trains, Volán buses and local V-bus services in the Veszprém area. The ticket is an ideal option for those visiting the region for a day or attending related events. For priority programmes, travellers can select the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 EKF ticket for a cost-effective alternative for the outward and return journey.
The new Veszprém-Balaton EKF24 day ticket allows travellers to access a range of routes for a single-day trip at a reduced price of HUF 1990 (EUR 5.34) in 2nd class on trains. This ticket is valid for the Budapest-Veszprém-Szombathely line, Veszprém-Győr line, and Székesfehérvár-Balatonfüred-Tapolca line. Additionally, travellers can use the Balatonszentgyörgy-Sümeg and Balatonvilagos-Vörs sections of the Balatonszentgyörgy-Keszthely-Tapolca-Ukk and Székesfehérvár-Siófok-Fonyód-Balatonszentgyörgy-Nagykanizsa lines, respectively, and regional intercity services of Volánbus.
The Veszprém-Balaton EKF24 day ticket is an excellent option for travellers visiting Veszprém, especially for those attending the European Capital of Culture programmes. However, passengers must pay a surcharge for all participating transport services, including the supplementary long-distance ticket for buses and coaches on services with an enhanced level of service and the class supplement for rail travel.
