School Set to Reopen on September 23 for Students and Teachers

The 2024-2025 academic school year is set to begin on Monday, September 23 in primary and secondary schools. Approximately 28 thousand students in 128 public and private schools, 30 thousand middle and high school students in 48 schools, 4 thousand students in 13 vocational schools, and 450 students at the Taner Akcan Apprenticeship and Adult Education Center will start classes.

The start of the new academic year, originally scheduled for September 16, has been postponed to September 23 by a decision of the Council of Ministers. The official announcement of this decision was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the academic calendar released by the Ministry of Education, the first term in primary and secondary schools will conclude with the issuance of report cards. Students will have a mid-term break from February 1-16. The second term will begin on February 17 and end with the distribution of report cards and completion certificates on June 16.

The First Stage of the College Entrance Exam is scheduled for January 25, with the Second Stage taking place on June 14. The placement exams for Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School, July 20 Science High School, and Nicosia Anatolian Fine Arts High School will also be administered in June.
