Schools Closed for Holiday in Tekirdağ and Kocaeli
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck off the coast of Silivri in the Marmara Sea, causing disruptions in education and training in the city of Tekirdağ. As a result, both primary and secondary schools as well as nurseries in the city have been suspended for a day, according to the Governor’s Office.
Additionally, certain individuals have been granted administrative leave without any formal procedure. This includes mothers with disabilities, pregnant women, disabled veterans working in public institutions, and children under the age of 10.
Furthermore, the health and safety units have advised that personnel working outside of their designated areas should exercise caution. In the province of Kocaeli, all official and private educational institutions, motor vehicle driving courses, and other training programs have also been given a day off. It has been emphasized that special consideration will be given to pregnant women, disabled individuals, and employees with chronic illnesses, as well as children under the age of 10.
