Health Minister Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek Addresses Monkeypox Virus Concerns
Health Minister Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek has spoken out about the recent cases of the Monkeypox virus, reassuring the public that necessary precautions have been taken to prevent its spread in the country.
In light of the global situation, Dinçyürek announced that the Communicable Diseases High Committee and the Infection Control Committee within the Ministry of Health have conducted thorough meetings to address the issue. Measures to raise public awareness and prevent potential cases in the country have been established, along with plans for managing any possible cases that may arise.
Following Dinçyürek’s directives, a comprehensive meeting was held on August 15, 2024, with the participation of the Communicable Diseases High Committee and the Infection Control Committee. Precautions were outlined, public awareness was heightened, and a clear roadmap was set in place to tackle any potential cases of the Monkeypox virus.
Despite no reported cases in neighboring regions such as Turkey and Southern Cyprus, Dr. Dinçyürek emphasized the importance of staying vigilant. A scientific meeting lasting four hours was convened, involving the Infectious Diseases High Board and other experts. While no cases have been detected so far, all necessary steps are being taken to inform the public and prevent any potential outbreaks.
Dr. Dinçyürek affirmed that the Ministry of Health will continue to keep the public informed about any developments related to the Monkeypox virus, ensuring that the necessary precautions are in place to protect the health of the population.
