Kazakh President Leads Security Council Meeting to Review National Security Plan Implementation
ASTANA — Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently chaired a meeting of the country’s Security Council on March 18 to assess the progress made in implementing the Action Plan for National Security Risk Management for 2021-2025. This plan was put in place to execute the National Security Strategy.
During the meeting, the government and heads of various relevant agencies presented reports on the achievement of key objectives and identified areas that require further attention. These areas include public, economic, environmental, and information security, as reported by Akorda.
President Tokayev stressed the importance of evaluating the National Security Strategy based on tangible results that benefit society. He emphasized the need for all sectors to prioritize the security of citizens and the state in their development plans.
Additionally, discussions at the meeting focused on enhancing efforts to combat terrorism and extremism. Yermek Sagimbayev, chairman of the National Security Committee, outlined the measures that have been implemented to address risks associated with terrorist and extremist activities and to improve anti-terrorist security.
Overall, the meeting underscored the government’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of Kazakhstan’s citizens and ensuring the stability and security of the nation as a whole.
