Security Measures Strengthened in Moscow in the Fight Against Terrorism
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has recently announced on his Telegram channel that security measures in the capital have been strengthened as part of the ongoing fight against terrorism. This move comes in response to the current security situation and the need to protect citizens from potential threats.
Rostov Region Governor Vasiliy Golubev has also taken necessary precautions to ensure the safety of residents in the region. He urged citizens to refrain from going to the city center and to stay at home until further notice. Golubev’s statement emphasizes the importance of personal safety and the need to avoid crowded areas during this time.
The Lipetsk Region, under the leadership of Governor Igor Artamanov, has also implemented increased security measures. Artamanov mentioned the critical infrastructure facilities receiving special attention to safeguard against any potential threats. He additionally advised residents against traveling south, particularly to the Voronezh region, in order to avoid any potential risks.
The Voronezh administration has informed the public that convoys of military vehicles are moving on the M4 federal highway. Thus, civilians are advised to avoid using this highway to ensure the smooth flow of military operations.
In a recent development, Yevgeny Prigojin, the founder of the private military company Wagner, claimed that a helicopter was shot down by Wagner forces on the Moscow highway. Prigojin made strong statements warning that they cannot be eliminated and are ready to sacrifice their lives for the homeland and the Russian people. He also condemned the actions of those responsible for firing at civilians in Rostov. Prigojin accused the Russian army of attacking Wagner and threatened to retaliate.
Following these accusations, the Federal Security Service (FSB) has opened a criminal case on charges of “armed riot.” The Russian Ministry of Defense, however, denied the allegations that Wagner attacked their camps in a statement.
