The reason for the separation of Dilan Polat and Engin Polat
The reason behind Dilan Polat and Engin Polat being placed in separate prisons has been revealed. While they were detained in Silivri Prison, the couple found a way to communicate during their meetings with lawyers, which ultimately resulted in them being transferred to different prisons. The discomfort caused by the lawyer meetings, and the lawyers going back and forth between the parties, led to the decision to send them to separate prisons.
The Polat family, who were facing trial, was initially sent to Silivri Prison. However, the prosecutor conducting the investigation made a new decision to send the couple to different prisons. Engin Polat’s brother was transferred to Kocaeli, while Dilan Polat’s brother was moved to Tekirdağ Prison.
Over 24 suspects were caught in the operation conducted by the Financial Crimes Department, which included the Polat family for the crimes of “Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime, Violation of the Tax Procedure Law and the Regulation of Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions.” Following a 19-hour proceeding at the Anatolian Courthouse, 12 out of the 18 suspects, including Engin Polat and Dilan Polat, were arrested, while the rest were released on a condition of judicial control.
The situation continues to escalate, adding more challenges and legal battles for the Polat couple. They were recently arrested for another crime, indicating that their legal situation is becoming more complicated.
