Serious Accident in Tuzla – Tipper Truck Collides with Open TIR Camera Platform.
A Tipper Truck Overturns in Tuzla, Istanbul
A serious accident occurred early this morning on the Tuzla D-100 Highway in the direction of Ankara. According to reports, a tipper truck being driven by Cemil Aslan, with a license plate of 41 BK 668, left a construction site in Tuzla after unloading excavation soil and forgot to lower the tipper.
As the truck entered the D-100 Highway, the tipper got stuck and dragged along the platform where the inspection cameras of the Highways Inspection Station were located. The platform detached, and the truck overturned by the side of the road.
Emergency services, including health, fire, and police teams, were immediately dispatched to the area. Firefighters rescued Cemil Aslan, the truck driver, and handed him over to the medical teams. He was transported to the hospital for treatment after receiving first aid at the site.
Due to the severity of the accident, the D100 Ankara direction was closed to traffic. The traffic flow only returned to normal after the overturned truck was lifted with the help of a crane.
An investigation has commenced regarding the cause of the accident. The incident serves as a reminder for truck drivers to ensure that their vehicles are safely secured before driving on highways.
