Setting Strategic Goals at EU Affairs Committees’ Budapest Conference
Hungary’s Minister for European Union Affairs, János Bóka, recently outlined the priorities for the Hungarian EU Presidency at a conference of EU affairs committees. The Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing European competitiveness, strengthening defense policies, and continuing to focus on EU enlargement.

The concept of gradual integration was also highlighted as a means of bringing countries closer to EU programs and networks before full membership.
Furthermore, the Hungarian Presidency aims to focus on EU cohesion policy and develop a farmer-centered agricultural policy. This comes in response to the challenges faced by European agriculture, including climate change and rising input costs. Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, István Jakab, echoed these concerns and emphasized the need for a sustainable and farmer-friendly agricultural policy.
