Provincial Gendarmerie Command Crack Down on Illegal Goose Fighting
In a recent statement from the Governor’s Office, it was reported that Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams took action in Ovasaray village following a tip-off about illegal goose fighting. During their operation, Gendarmerie teams caught 7 individuals red-handed.
Suspected to be involved in illegal animal fighting, the 7 individuals were found to be in possession of a substantial amount of money totaling 72,695 pounds. The suspects have been detained and an investigation has been launched by the public prosecutor’s office.
As part of the operation, 6 geese used in the fighting were rescued and handed over to the Corum Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate Animal Rehabilitation Center. This move aims to provide a safe and caring environment for the animals that were subjected to cruel treatment in these illegal activities.
