Severe Flooding Alert in Three Provinces: Homes and Workplaces Submerged
Heavy rain causing floods and inundations in Altınordu district of Ordu
The General Directorate has issued a statement warning of strong showers and thunderstorms in Ordu, particularly in the eastern districts, Giresun, and west of Trabzon. The heavy rain has already caused flooding in Altınordu district, with some houses and workplaces submerged in water.
The downpour quickly intensified, leading to waterlogging on roads and streets, creating challenges for drivers on the Black Sea Coastal Road. Some basements and businesses were flooded, requiring immediate action to address the situation.
To prevent possible negative consequences such as floods, landslides, and transportation disruptions, residents are urged to stay cautious and take necessary precautions. The Altınordu-Ulubey road was temporarily closed due to rising water levels but has since reopened after the water receded.
Ordu Metropolitan Municipality teams are working on draining water from the affected areas to ensure the safety and well-being of residents. It is crucial for everyone to remain vigilant and prepared for any further developments as the inclement weather continues.
