Severe Snowstorm Alert Issued for Select Areas
The General Directorate has issued a statement warning of heavy snowfall in several regions of Turkey. Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, and Balikesir to the northern and western areas of Bursa are expected to experience intermittent snowfall today, with the effects increasing tomorrow and continuing until Saturday night.
In addition, Zonguldak, Düzce, Bartın, the northern areas of Kastamonu, Sinop, and Samsun are also forecasted to receive significant snowfall, with the intensity increasing tomorrow.
Residents in these areas are advised to exercise caution as the heavy snowfall could lead to transportation disruptions, icing, frost, high snow accumulation, and a greater risk of avalanches. The strong snowfall is expected to persist until Sunday afternoon in some areas, requiring extra care and vigilance from the public.
