The Heroic Act of Seyit and Ali in the Battle at Sea
In the early morning hours, during a fierce battle at sea, some ships from the ally fleet came under heavy fire. Among them was Rumeli Mecidiye, which was in a dire situation. The crew, under the command of the team officer Fahri Efendi, sought shelter as the ship was being bombarded. When the battery commander appeared with two German officers, they witnessed Seyit’s remarkable aim and determination. The fourth shot sealed Ocean’s fate as it hit a mine and sank before their eyes.
Seyit and Ali’s courage and skill in the face of danger were instrumental in turning the tide of the battle. Their actions not only saved their own ship but also dealt a significant blow to the enemy forces.
