“Shift in Second-Hand Car Market: High Demand for Vehicles Between 300-500K TL”
As the weather warms up, the second-hand car market in Samsun, Turkey, has become very active. Dealers report that there are not many cars available for under 300,000 TL, with most vehicles being sold between 300,000 and 500,000 TL.
Rıfat Bilgili, a car dealer, advises that their business is currently very busy with a lot of activity. Last year, cars worth between 50,000 TL and 200,000 TL were sold, but now there is not much available for under 300,000 TL. Bilgili also notes that the sale of cars between 300,000 TL and 500,000 TL is fast and is struggling to find cars at these prices to sell.
Gallerist Abdullah Güven is having the same issue, as there are not enough products in the used car market. Prices are increasing, but there is still a heavy demand for sales. Güven notes that people are in a hurry to buy a car before the election.
Similarly, Özden Çayıroğlu, who brought his car to sell, explains that the whole sector is now indexed to the election. People are now waiting to buy after the election results come in.
Yasin Güzel, who brought his car to sell, noted that prices increased significantly. However, the market is very active today as people realized that missing the chance to buy a vehicle means missing out on investment opportunities.
Buyer Tahsin Küçük highlights the difficulty in negotiating prices with car sellers, saying, “We say 200, they say 250,” and that higher prices above 500,000 TL are less appealing.
With good weather and high demand, the second-hand car market in Samsun is experiencing a busy and active period that is expected to continue even after the election-related rush subsides.
