Shocking: Car purchased from showroom bursts into flames on road home
A shocking incident occurred in Kırıkkale, where a citizen’s newly purchased second-hand car caught fire shortly after leaving the showroom. The citizen, identified as Yasin Canyurt, had just bought the Fiat brand car from a showroom in the Sincan district of Ankara. However, as he was heading home, he noticed flames coming out of the engine compartment of the vehicle with the license plate 06 GHD 40.
The incident took place at the İş-Kur Intersection on Millet Boulevard in Kırıkkale at night. Canyurt promptly pulled over and contacted the 112 Emergency Call Center for assistance. Firefighters arrived at the scene quickly and managed to extinguish the fire. It was later determined that the cause of the fire was related to the cables connected to the battery.
In a statement, Canyurt expressed his shock over the sudden fire, saying, “I was just driving home after purchasing the car when it suddenly caught fire. I had been assured that the car had no issues, but this unexpected incident occurred.”
Following the incident, police teams implemented road safety measures at the intersection where the fire occurred. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident.
This unexpected event serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough vehicle inspections before making a purchase, as safety should always be a top priority for motorists.
