Shocking Phone Threat Revealed in Beykoz Municipality Operation Updates

An investigation led by the Chief Public Prosecutor of Beykoz has revealed shocking testimonies from witnesses regarding corruption within the municipality. One witness, Köseler, and Beykoz Municipality Special Pen Manager Veli Gümüş, stated that tenders were manipulated in favor of certain companies, with kickbacks being received by officials.

Furthermore, another witness, Silver, and the municipality driver, Metin Ülgey, revealed that threats were made to ensure that specific companies won tenders by calling them and dictating the prices that should be bid. It was also claimed that certain companies were participating in tender processes as if they were part of a holding, with Köseler being aware of these relationships.

In a surprising turn of events, Veli Gümüş was found to have received a substantial amount of money in exchange for his duties, while also residing in a luxurious property with a high rental price.

As a result of the investigation, Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler and several others were arrested on charges of corruption and forming an organized crime group. The Istanbul Police Department conducted raids, leading to the detention of 20 suspects, and additional evidence was seized from the municipality building.

Following health checks, the suspects were brought before the court, with some being released on judicial control and others being arrested, including Köseler. The Ministry of Interior subsequently announced Köseler’s dismissal from his position as mayor.

This investigation sheds light on the rampant corruption and misuse of power within the Beykoz Municipality, underscoring the importance of holding public officials accountable for their actions.
