Major Police Operation Disrupts Prostitution Network
In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Provincial Security Directorate’s Public Security Branch has successfully dismantled a prostitution network following a six-month investigation. The operation, which culminated in multiple arrests, resulted in the detention of ten individuals.
Seizures and Arrests
During the police operation, approximately 100,000 TL and a quantity of illicit drugs were confiscated from several locations associated with the network. Notably, twelve women who had been coerced into prostitution were identified and rescued. The investigation revealed that the network used internet-based applications to communicate with clients, thereby attempting to evade law enforcement.
Financial and Asset Recovery
In addition to the arrests, police uncovered significant financial assets. The operation revealed bank deposits related to prostitution crimes amounting to 9 million TL. Authorities also seized luxury items, including six vehicles, three trucks, and eight properties, valued at approximately 63 million TL.
Court Proceedings
Following the arrests, three of the suspects were released from police custody, while seven others were referred to the court. The court subsequently ordered the arrest of these seven individuals, who are now facing serious charges related to their involvement in the prostitution network.
This decisive action by law enforcement underscores the ongoing commitment to combat human trafficking and related criminal activities within the community.
