Sinan Ogan: A Brief Overview of his Life and Career
Sinan Ogan, a Turkish strategic researcher and politician, was born in Iğdır in 1969. He is married to Gökçen Ogan and has been making waves in Turkish politics. Here’s a look at who he is and what he has accomplished so far.
Ogan started his political career as a member of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and got elected as Iğdır Deputy from the party in the 2011 Turkish general elections. However, he got expelled from the party in 2015 along with three other MHP deputies, only to return after winning the lawsuit. He was expelled once again in 2017.
Ogan also completed his master’s degree and doctoral studies in economics and administrative sciences at Marmara University Faculty. He worked as a research assistant at Marmara University Turkic Studies Institute and as a lecturer and vice dean at Azerbaijan State University of Economics. Additionally, he founded and chaired the Center for International Relations and Strategic Analysis (TÜRKSAM).
Ogan is also known for producing and hosting a weekly foreign policy program called Eurasia’ya Look at TRT Türkiyenin Sesi Radio. He has written more than 500 articles and published three books.
Moreover, he was nominated as a presidential candidate by the ATA Alliance for the 2023 Turkish presidential election and completed the 100,000 signatures required to be a candidate. Currently, he is running as an independent candidate.
