Governor Gul Provides Update on Önder’s Health Status After Being Rushed to Hospital
Governor Gul made a statement to journalists outside the hospital regarding the health status of Sırrı Süreyya Önder. He mentioned that Önder was brought to the hospital by 112 Emergency Health teams at 22:40.
Gul, who arrived at the hospital at around 22:50, mentioned that the Provincial Health Director, Hospital Chief Physician, Rector, and Health Officers immediately intervened in the situation, and Önder is currently undergoing a major surgery which is expected to last approximately 6-7 hours.
Several state officials including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli, and Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu have shown great interest in the matter and requested prayers for Önder’s recovery.
Istanbul Provincial Health Director Abdullah Emre Güner highlighted the quick intervention that took place and expressed hope for a successful outcome. Rector of Demiroğlu Science University, Dr. Çavlan Çiftçi, mentioned that the surgery began at around 23:30 and all necessary medical teams were present.
Dr. Çiftçi explained that the surgery for the rupture of the main vessel in the heart is a complex procedure and poses a significant risk to the patient. The surgery is expected to last for 7-8 hours, emphasizing the critical nature of Önder’s condition.
