Sites to Increase Dues in Parliament Agenda – Latest Update
Following the recent removal of the 25 percent increase limit on housing rents, there has been a sharp increase in housing and workplace dues, causing concern among property owners and tenants. In metropolitan cities, some dues have risen by up to 85 percent, leading to widespread reactions.
Elfi Real Estate Board Chairman Özkan Aydemir emphasized the need for certain limits to be set on fee increases to prevent conflicts between site managements and flat owners. Aydemir stated that the high dues imposed on property owners and tenants are starting to become comparable to apartment rents in some cases.
The issue of fee increases has now been brought to the parliamentary agenda by AK Party Burdur Deputy Mustafa Oğuz. Oğuz highlighted the direct impact of these fee increases on the daily lives of citizens and stressed the importance of establishing correct management systems in housing sites to avoid problems in fee applications.
Aydemir suggested that fee increases should be made once a year, with interim increases allowed due to changes in minimum wage. He also emphasized the importance of homeowners and tenants attending general assemblies in housing sites to stay informed about developments and participate in fee determination.
Furthermore, Aydemir pointed out that flat owners have the right to object to decisions and file a lawsuit with the Civil Court of Peace within 1 month in case of irregularities. He also raised concerns about tenants being included in some expenses in housing sites for which they are not responsible.
In conclusion, the issue of fee increases in housing and workplace dues is a pressing concern that requires attention and proper management to ensure fair treatment for property owners and tenants alike.
