Six Gamblers Fined 38,550 Lira Each
Police Raid on Gambling Operation in Sungurlu District
The Çarşamba District Police Department recently conducted an investigation following a tip-off about illegal gambling activities taking place in a coffee house located in Sungurlu District. During the operation, police discovered that 6 individuals were engaged in gambling at the establishment.
As a result of their findings, the authorities took criminal action against the business owner, identified as I.Z, for the offense of “providing a place and opportunity for gambling.” Additionally, the 6 individuals involved in the gambling activities were collectively fined a total of 38,550 Turkish Liras.
Furthermore, police seized a sum of money that was found on the tables and suspected to be used in the illegal gambling games. In addition to the gambling-related offenses, a report was also filed regarding the presence of smoking in the establishment.
The police department’s swift intervention in shutting down this illegal operation serves as a reminder of the consequences that individuals and businesses could face for engaging in unlawful activities.
