Ankara Police Detain Suspects for Immigrant Smuggling and Fraud

According to a statement released by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, a group of suspects has been accused of immigrant smuggling and forgery of private documents in Ankara, Turkey. The investigation, led by the Smuggling and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, revealed that 13 individuals had allegedly prepared fake rental contracts for foreign nationals without legal residence permits in the country. These forged documents were reportedly submitted to the Ankara Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration.

The suspects are facing charges of making false statements and falsifying documents. It was discovered that the suspects had fabricated rental agreements on behalf of 110 foreign nationals, all of whom were listed as residing in locations without a building permit and under construction.

In a coordinated operation conducted by the Ankara Provincial Police Department’s Anti-Immigrant Smuggling Branch, six out of the 13 suspects subject to detention orders were apprehended. Authorities are currently working to arrest the remaining individuals involved in the scheme.

The investigation is ongoing, as law enforcement agencies continue to crack down on criminal activities related to immigrant smuggling and document forgery in the region.
