Slovak Prime Minister Acknowledges Viktor Orbán’s Nationalistic Policies

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico Praises Viktor Orbán’s Policies and National Sovereignty Approach
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico recently praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s policies and approaches to national sovereignty in an interview with Slovak news site, Pravda. Fico expressed his admiration for Orbán’s dedication to fighting for the Hungarian national interest, stating, “I have been watching Viktor Orbán fight for the Hungarian national interest with great respect. Hats off to him.”
Fico went on to commend Orbán for his unique style of working and his commitment to making decisions that align with Hungary’s best interests as a nation-state. He emphasized that it is Orbán’s government that determines what is beneficial for the country, highlighting the importance of national sovereignty in decision-making processes.
In response to questions about the failure of price controls in Hungary, Fico dismissed the notion of automatically attributing another country’s practices as bad examples. He defended Orbán’s sovereignty in handling the situation, stating, “He has the full support of the Hungarian nation because the Hungarian people see that he is fighting for them.”
Addressing criticism about “bad decisions,” Fico acknowledged that mistakes can happen but emphasized that such occurrences do not equate to a dead-end for Orbán’s policies, affirming, “If they were, he (Mr. Orbán) would not be prime minister of Hungary.”
The Slovak Prime Minister’s public acknowledgment of Orbán’s leadership and policies comes as the two countries continue to navigate their bilateral relations. Fico’s words reflect the mutual respect and admiration shared between the two leaders, positioning them as long-term allies in the European political landscape.
