Smugglers in Istanbul: 2 detained in police operation
Istanbul Anti-Smuggling Crimes Branch Directorate has recently made a breakthrough in their fight against illegal smuggling activities. The teams conducted an operation at a specific location in Bağcılar, resulting in the detention of two foreign nationals suspected of gaining unfair profits through illegal means.
During the search at the address, a total of 76 laser epilation, EMS, and skin care devices were confiscated. It was revealed that these products did not have the necessary CE certificates and test reports, indicating that they were brought into the country illegally.
The confiscated skin care and laser epilation devices, commonly used in the cosmetics industry, were put on display at the Istanbul Police Department’s campus on Vatan Street. This move served as a warning to others involved in similar illegal activities.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects in accordance with the Anti-Smuggling Law. The Istanbul authorities are committed to cracking down on smuggling activities and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
