Snow Barrier: Schools Closed for the Sixth Time in Artvin
Schools in Artvin have been given an extended holiday for the 6th time due to severe snowfall and cold weather conditions. The Artvin Governorate made the announcement on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in response to the meteorological data indicating the need for precautions against potential icing and transportation issues within the province.
In order to ensure the safety of students and prevent any negative impacts from the harsh weather conditions, all educational institutions in Artvin, except for the district of Yusufeli, will remain closed on Thursday, February 27. This includes kindergartens, nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, public education courses, day-to-day education Qur’an courses, rehabilitation centers, and special courses.
Additionally, pregnant women, individuals with disabilities, and personnel with disabled children who are required to work in public institutions will be granted administrative leave on the same date. This decision aims to prioritize the well-being of the students and staff in Artvin during this challenging weather period.
