Snowfall in Kırklareli Causes Disruptions in Transportation
The recent snowfall in the high parts of Kırklareli has been causing disruptions in daily life, particularly in the Demirköy district. Near Mahya Mountain, a snow plow vehicle belonging to the 15th Branch Chief of Highways overturned due to the driver losing control of the steering.
Upon receiving the news, health, fire brigade, and gendarmerie teams were immediately dispatched to the region. The two individuals in the vehicle were promptly taken to Pınarhisar State Hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, the snowfall shows no signs of stopping, affecting not only transportation at the Dereköy Border Gate leading to Bulgaria but also in the higher parts of Kofçaz and Demirköy districts. The snowfall is forecasted to persist until Wednesday, January 15, with temperatures dropping to 2 degrees below zero in the higher areas.
The authorities are advising caution to residents and travelers in the region, urging them to prepare for the harsh weather conditions and stay updated on any further developments regarding the snowfall in Kırklareli.
