
Snowstorm Warning Issued for Istanbul and Other Provinces

The General Directorate of Meteorology has released new estimates for the weather conditions in our country. According to the forecast, there will be a mix of partly cloudy and very cloudy skies in different regions. The east of Marmara, Eastern Mediterranean, Northeast of Central Anatolia, Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia are expected to experience intermittent rain. The Eastern Mediterranean coast and the south of Southeastern Anatolia will have rain and downpours, while other areas may see snow mixed with rain. Strong winds are predicted for the Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, as well as for Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Sinop. Icing and frost are expected in the northern, inner, and eastern parts of the country, with a high risk of avalanches on the high and steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia.
In terms of temperature, a decrease of 2-4 degrees below seasonal norms is expected nationwide. Winds will generally be light, occasionally reaching medium strength from the northern directions, but areas like Marmara, coastal Aegean, the inner parts of the Mediterranean, and the south of Central Anatolia may experience stronger winds (40-60 km/h).
It is important to remain cautious and vigilant in the face of adverse weather conditions. Rainfall is expected in certain regions, particularly in the Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, the east of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, and in cities like Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Sinop. A strong wind warning has been issued for Marmara, coastal Aegean, and Mediterranean regions, with speeds reaching 40-60 km/h.
Additionally, there is a warning about icing, frost, and avalanche dangers in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and on the steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia. Residents in the north, inner, and eastern parts of the country are advised to be cautious and alert to potential dangers.
