Turkish Health Minister Calls for Solidarity Against Isolation of Turkish Cypriots
Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu recently made a call for solidarity against the isolation of Turkish Cypriots at the meeting of the Turkish States Organization (TDT) health ministers. The meeting, which was the 5th of its kind, took place in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and was hosted by the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Akmaraal Alnazarova.
During the meeting, Minister Memişoğlu emphasized the importance of working together in unity and solidarity to address the challenges faced by Turkish Cypriots, particularly in the health sector. He highlighted the need for cooperation among Turkish World Family members to combat the isolation experienced by Turkish Cypriots.
The meeting was attended by health ministers from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary, as well as officials from the World Health Organization. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the health sector, developing joint projects, and enhancing global health diplomacy.
Minister Memişoğlu praised the achievements of Turkey in the field of primary health services and emphasized the importance of collaborating on issues such as medical personnel exchange programs and crisis intervention mechanisms. He called for increased initiatives to develop common projects under the umbrella of the Turkish States Organization.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint declaration by the TDT Health Ministers and agreements on emergency health services, biosecurity, pharmaceutical cooperation, and medical device collaboration among member states. The ministers also approved a two-year action plan to further enhance cooperation in the health sector.
Overall, the meeting was seen as a success in promoting solidarity and cooperation among Turkish World Family members to address common challenges and improve healthcare services for all. It highlighted the importance of working together to overcome barriers and ensure equality in health for all members of the Turkish States Organization.
