Son Beats Parents, Sets House on Fire, and Resists Police with Gun
A disturbing incident occurred in Elazığ, where İ.E., who is said to have psychological issues, engaged in a heated argument with his parents and set fire to the curtains of the house. The tense situation escalated when İ.E. resisted the police with a pump-action shotgun before eventually surrendering after persuasion.
The incident unfolded in the evening on Yavuz Selim Street in Rüstempaşa District. İ.E., reportedly suffering from psychological problems, arrived at his parents’ house and began arguing with them for reasons unknown. He proceeded to forcibly remove his parents from the house, tossing furniture from the third-floor balcony and igniting the curtains in the bedroom.
Health, fire brigade, and police teams were dispatched to the scene following a report of the incident. Despite İ.E.’s initial resistance, he allowed the fire brigade to extinguish the flames after their intervention. Subsequently, through the combined efforts of the police teams, İ.E. was convinced to surrender. Medical teams provided treatment to his parents at the scene.
An investigation into the matter has been launched, and İ.E., who was detained, is currently undergoing legal procedures at the police station. The unsettling event serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues and promoting peaceful conflict resolution methods.
