Sonay Demirpençe Appointed as President of CTP Youth Organization Nicosia District
Sonay Demirpençe has been appointed as the President of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Youth Organization Nicosia District Organization. The announcement was made by the CTP Press Office following the CTP Youth Organization Nicosia District Congress held at the Nicosia District Central Building in Dereboyu.
At the congress, Sonay Demirpençe took over the presidency from İsmail Barbaros. The newly elected board of directors includes Mehmet Hoca, Efe Aka, Salih Hafız, Ronahi Bulğan, Berke Sarcan, and Ahmet Kürt. Secretary General Asım Akansoy, Nicosia District Chairman and Deputy Devrim Barçın, as well as members of parliament, were also present at the congress.
Former President İsmail Barbaros expressed gratitude to the members and leaders of the organization, emphasizing that it is not a farewell but a change of leadership. He wished success to his colleagues in the new term, stating his belief that CTP Youth Organization will lead Nicosia District to a better future.
In her speech, Sonay Demirpençe emphasized the history of CTP’s struggle for justice, equality, and freedom, pledging to continue this fight. She highlighted the responsibility of the youth to work towards a brighter future for Cyprus and Nicosia, opposing efforts to undermine the country’s progress.
CTP Youth Organization Chair Çise Mevlit addressed the issue of traffic accidents and emphasized the need for collective action to improve road safety and prevent further loss of lives. She called for unity among young people to build a better future together and expressed determination to address social and economic challenges facing the youth.
CTP Nicosia District Chairman and Deputy Devrim Barçın stressed the importance of youth involvement in policy-making and highlighted the organization’s role in advocating for the interests of young people. CTP Secretary General Asım Akansoy paid tribute to the legacy of former CTP Secretary General Naci Talat and underscored the importance of upholding democratic values and promoting economic and social development.
