Lebanese Prime Minister Condemns Israel’s Attack on Beirut
Lebanese Prime Minister Naguib Mikati has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attack on the southern part of the capital Beirut. In response to the attack, Mikati has called for a meeting of the Council of Ministers tomorrow to address the situation.
In a statement released by the Lebanese Prime Ministry Press Office, Mikati stated, “The Israeli killing machine has targeted the capital Beirut after the southern regions of Lebanon and the Bekaa.” He went on to highlight the proximity of the attack to one of the country’s largest hospitals, calling it a “criminal act” that is part of a series of attacks on civilians in violation of international law.
Mikati expressed his intention to seek accountability from the international community for Israel’s actions, stating, “We will leave this attack to the responsibility of the international community and put pressure on them to stop the attacks on Israel.” He also emphasized that Lebanon reserved the right to take necessary steps to deter further attacks from Israel.
The Prime Minister has called for an urgent meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss the ongoing attacks by Israel. The meeting will aim to address the situation and formulate a response to ensure the protection of Lebanon and its citizens in the face of aggression.
