Space Vatan: Embarking on a New Adventure!

A new era of space exploration is set to begin with Turkey’s Space Agency announcing plans to make history by landing on the moon in 2026. The ambitious project, known as the Moon Research Program, will involve national and international cooperation to develop a hybrid rocket engine for a hard landing on the moon.
The goal is to achieve this feat by 2026, with preparations already underway for critical purchases such as ground station rental and launch services. In the second stage of the program, Turkish scientists and engineers plan to launch a national vehicle into space to conduct research on the moon’s surface using domestic engines.
The Space Agency’s President, Yusuf Kıraç, expressed confidence in Turkey’s capabilities in the field of space exploration, stating, “We are determined to establish our country as a key player in the global space arena. We are committed to achieving our performance targets for 2025 and beyond.”
With plans to complete a center for space support systems by 2027, Turkey is making significant strides in space research and technology. The future looks bright for Turkey’s space program as it aims to make its mark on the international stage of space exploration.
