
Steering the Future: Women Entrepreneurs Unite at Business Summit

The “Women in Business III” summit organized by the Turkish Cypriot Women Entrepreneurs Association, in collaboration with the Turkish Women Entrepreneurs Association, has come to an end with a wide range of contributions from various non-governmental organizations. The 2-day summit, which was themed “Leading the Future”, included discussions on topics such as the future of young people, science and technology, the business world, agriculture, and food.
The event received positive feedback from GİKAD President İçim Çağıner Kavuklu, who emphasized the valuable connections that were established for the Turkish Cypriot people during the summit. Additionally, the Bayrak Radio and Television Board was thanked for its ongoing support to GİKAD and the accurate coverage of their work to the public.
Filiz Evran, Advisor to the President of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey, shared insights into the formation of the Women in Business Summit, highlighting the commitment to empowering TRNC women and their role in shaping the future, particularly in the age of information.
Gülseren Hülya Akkaya, Deputy Chairman of the Fair Sector Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, expressed optimism about the implementation of new collaborations and projects following the summit. She stressed the importance of enhancing the status of women in various sectors, including banking, industry, and decision-making mechanisms.
The summit was also supported by BRTK Director and GİKAD Board Member Meryem Özkurt, who emphasized the importance of empowering women in every field and highlighted the significance of the summit in promoting the country and supporting women in business.
Katherine Haring, European Vice President of the Global Federation of Women Entrepreneurs, underscored the organization’s global efforts to empower women, encouraging the continued support and encouragement of women in various contexts.
The summit concluded with the Republic Ball, marking the end of a successful event.
