Storm Causes Trees to Fall in Bartın
Heavy rain and storm wreaked havoc in Bartın, causing chaos for drivers in the city center. The extreme weather made it difficult for vehicles to navigate the roads, with visibility dropping to just 1-2 meters due to the heavy rainfall.
One particularly alarming incident occurred on the Bartın-Karabük road in the Ulupınar area, where a lightning strike caused a tree to split in two, sending branches crashing down onto the highway. Fortunately, no one was injured as the road was deserted at the time of the incident. Emergency response teams swiftly arrived on the scene to clear the road and remove the fallen tree.
In addition to the tree incident, strong winds in the Kurucaşile district led to a transformer explosion in front of the district governor’s office. Flames briefly engulfed the transformer before extinguishing on their own.
Despite the challenges posed by the severe weather, emergency services successfully managed to clear the road and reopen it to traffic within an hour. Residents are advised to exercise caution and stay safe during such extreme weather conditions in the future.
