Stray Dog Attack on Child in Izmir: Captured Moment by Moment
Young Baran Levent was left injured after a stray dog attacked him on September 13 in Yurdoğlu Neighborhood, 3946 Street. The first-grade student was rushed to the hospital where he received stitches on his head and ear. The incident left his family in shock and fear, as they now seek justice and assistance from the authorities.
According to his mother, Özge Levent, Baran had innocently petted the dog before it suddenly turned aggressive. Thankfully, a bystander managed to intervene and rescue the child from the dog’s jaws. Despite the physical injuries, Baran’s condition is said to be improving.
The family is now calling for help from the Metropolitan and Karabağlar municipalities to address the issue of stray dogs in the area. They fear that if action is not taken, others may also fall victim to such attacks. The incident was captured on a security camera, leaving the family traumatized by what they witnessed.
Baran, who once loved animals, now expresses fear and distrust towards them due to the attack. His grandfather, Cemal Levent, vows to pursue justice until the end, emphasizing the emotional toll the incident has taken on the family.
