Turkish States Organization Higher Courts Conference Held in Antalya
The picturesque city of Antalya, Turkey, played host to the Turkish States Organization Higher Courts Conference, organized by the Presidency of the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Turkey. Key attendees included the President of the Supreme Court, Bertan Özerdağ, along with esteemed Supreme Court Judges Gülden Çiftçioğlu and Bahar Duatepe.
Delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participated in the gathering, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among these nations.
In his inaugural address, Supreme Court President Özerdağ expressed his honor and gratitude for the opportunity to engage with fellow legal professionals. He extended heartfelt thanks to the Turkish Republic’s Supreme Court and its members for their warm invitations.
Özerdağ underscored the significance of this conference, stating, “I believe that this collaboration will greatly enhance communication and solidarity among us.” He expressed hope for the future deepening of these cooperative efforts within the framework of the Turkish States Organization.
Highlighting the critical role of law in national development and economic stability, Özerdağ remarked that as legal frameworks evolve within countries, so do the living standards of their citizens. He emphasized that achieving contemporary legal norms and justice empowers societies to look forward with optimism.
“The members of the highest courts of our countries bear significant responsibilities, including the protection of constitutional order and fundamental rights,” Özerdağ asserted. He pointed out that each nation possesses rich knowledge and experience in the legal arena, which can only enhance cooperation within the Turkish States Organization.
Özerdağ concluded his address by expressing a desire for more conferences and collaborative events in the future, stating that such initiatives would positively impact the legal development of all partner nations. “It is both an honor and a pleasure to participate in this conference, and I look forward to future engagements,” he affirmed.
