
Suspected Manipulation Probed on Stock Exchange

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into sudden decreases in the BIST due to manipulative transactions in the share market. The investigation also includes manipulative actions in the capital market vehicles that have caused this volatility.
Highlighting the disruptive nature of these actions in the stock market, which cannot be explained by reasonable economic or financial reasons, the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has taken the decision to detain individuals involved in these manipulative actions. As a result, 17 people have been arrested in operations conducted in Istanbul under the direction of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
CNN Türk correspondent Merve Tokaz provided further details during a live broadcast, stating that the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into manipulative movements in Borsa Istanbul. The detained individuals are believed to be involved in manipulative activities, and more arrests are expected to follow in connection with the investigation.
Additionally, the Istanbul Directorate of Anti-Financial Crimes Branch took action based on the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s instructions, leading to the detention of 17 individuals.
