Two Injured in Traffic Accident at Dörtyol Junction

This morning, a collision between a saloon vehicle and a crane vehicle at the Dörtyol junction resulted in injuries to the driver and a passenger in the saloon vehicle.

According to information provided by the police, the accident occurred at 08:35 this morning at the Dörtyol controlled road intersection.

The driver, Beril Yaren Alkaşi, was traveling from north to south at the Dörtyol intersection when she failed to give priority to vehicles on the main road, entering the Famagusta-Nicosia main road. As she approached the intersection to turn towards Dörtyol with her saloon vehicle with ZUC 405 plate, a crane with plate PE 059, driven by Mahmut Ayçiçek, collided with the vehicle when he carelessly blocked the vehicle’s front without reducing speed. The collision occurred in the left lane towards Nicosia.

Beril Yaren Alkaşi and Gönül Memiş, a passenger in the vehicle, were injured in the accident. After receiving treatment at the Famagusta State Hospital, Beril Yaren Alkaşi was kept under observation in the emergency room as a precaution, while Gönül Memiş suffered a rib fracture and was referred to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for further treatment.

The accident serves as a reminder to always observe traffic rules and give way to vehicles on the main road to prevent such collisions.
