Efforts to improve health, preserve cultural heritage, and promote community well-being in Kazakhstan are gaining momentum, with companies like Nestlé leading the way in social programs. Nestlé in Kazakhstan is committed to advancing fundamental values and integrating business growth with a positive social impact, as highlighted by CEO Maksim Shchetin in a recent interview.
One of Nestlé’s key initiatives is the “Nestlé. Healthier kids” global program, which focuses on promoting healthy habits among children. Nestlé has been providing nutrition education in schools across Almaty, Astana, and other regions for over a decade, resulting in significant improvements in children’s diets and physical activity levels. The program includes innovative lessons like the “Food Lab” and the annual eco-competition “Grow Your Garden,” aimed at fostering environmental awareness among students.
In addition to promoting healthy habits, Nestlé also celebrates Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage by integrating traditional cuisine into its initiatives. The annual art competition “Our Dastarkhan” encourages children to explore and express their family traditions and culinary customs, helping to cultivate respect for national culture.
Nestlé’s commitment to social responsibility extends to animal welfare through the “Let’s Help” initiative, supported by its Purina pet food brand. The program has connected shelters, veterinary clinics, and volunteers to rehome over 200 stray animals in Almaty and Astana.
Furthermore, Nestlé actively supports Kazakhstan’s Red Crescent Society through its “Foodbank” program, providing monthly food donations to underserved communities. The company also hosts various initiatives such as “Caring for the Elderly Month” and the “Tree of Dreams,” where employees purchase gifts for children in orphanages.
