Tajik Prime Minister Encourages Boosting Trade with Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Aim to Increase Mutual Trade Volume to $2 Billion
During a recent meeting between Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, it was stated that the goal set by the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan to increase mutual trade volume to $2 billion is achievable. Rasulzoda expressed confidence in the feasibility of this target, citing Kazakhstan’s strong position in foreign trade turnover and a 20% increase in trade volume in the first half of the year.
President Tokayev expressed his gratitude to Rasulzoda for his efforts in organizing a high-level business forum and reiterated Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening the partnership with Tajikistan. He also supported President Emomali Rahmon’s proposal to enhance inter-parliamentary relations, which was discussed in a meeting with Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, chairman of the Tajik Parliament.
Both parties highlighted the significance of legislative support for agreements in political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian areas. Additionally, Tokayev and Rahmon visited an exhibition showcasing a wide range of agricultural products, national dishes, and bakery items, further emphasizing the potential for collaboration between the two countries.
The leaders expressed hope for the successful development of parliamentary relations and underscored their readiness to work together to strengthen ties and expand cooperation in various fields. Overall, the discussions and visits underscored the mutual commitment to advancing bilateral relations and achieving the set trade volume target.
