
Tatar Calls on Sister TDT Member States to Strengthen Ties with TRNC

President Ersin Tatar is determined to win the upcoming presidential election as an independent candidate, emphasizing the importance of continuing the successful two-state politics in the Republic of Turkish Cyprus. Under his leadership, the visibility of the TRNC has increased, thanks to international support from the Republic of Turkey over the past 4.5 years.
President Tatar highlighted the significance of the TRNC’s observer membership status in the Turkish States Organization (TDT) and emphasized the need to establish relations with the European Union and Southern Cyprus through the TRNC. He also stressed the importance of unity and reconciliation in overcoming challenges faced by the Turkish Cypriot people.
In response to discussions regarding the Turkish Cypriot identity, President Tatar emphasized the need for social reconciliation over discrimination, stating that unity and tolerance are essential for a strong and united nation.
Regarding recent developments in TDT member countries, President Tatar called for the strengthening of relationships with the TRNC and emphasized the need to increase bilateral relations with sister states. He expressed understanding for the economic pressures faced by some TDT member countries and called for constructive dialogue to enhance cooperation.
President Tatar reiterated his commitment to the two-state policy and called for public support in the upcoming presidential election. With the support of the Republic of Turkey and international partners, he aims to continue the development and success of the TRNC as an independent and thriving state.
