Tatar Joins Writer Fikret Şanal at Book Introduction and Signing Event – BRTK
President Ersin Tatar recently attended a book promotion event for the works of writer Fikret Şanal, including “Struggle for Existence” and “We are in the place where the word ends in traffic”. In his speech at the event, Tatar highlighted Şanal’s longstanding support for the two-state solution in Cyprus and his advocacy for it even before it became a national political issue.
Tatar emphasized the importance of preserving and documenting the life of Turkish Cypriots, noting Şanal’s contributions to society as a police officer, footballer, and writer. He praised Şanal for his dedication to the community through his articles and books.
The President commended the efforts of those involved in compiling the 2,000 articles for the books and expressed gratitude to Fikret Şanal for his guidance and valuable experiences. Tatar also revealed that the proceeds from book sales will be donated to the Champion Angels Association.
Overall, the event celebrated the literary achievements of Fikret Şanal and underscored the significance of preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the Turkish Cypriot community.
