President Ersin Tatar Pays a Visit to Former Minister Eşber Serakıncı
President Ersin Tatar recently visited Eşber Serakıncı, a former Minister of National Education and Culture, who played a significant role in the establishment of Türksoy, the International Turkish Cultural Organization.
During his visit, President Tatar expressed his gratitude to Eşber Serakıncı for his past contributions and efforts in setting up Türksoy. Tatar mentioned that he had visited Türksoy during his trips to Ankara and closely followed the organization’s activities, noting that the ongoing projects were progressing well.
President Ersin Tatar emphasized the invaluable work and services provided by Eşber Serakıncı in promoting cultural unity within the Turkish world. He stated that Serakıncı’s past efforts had not only strengthened the infrastructure of the TRNC as a state but also contributed to the formation of the Turkish States Organization, as evidenced by their membership.
In response, Eşber Serakıncı expressed his appreciation for the visit and thanked President Ersin Tatar. Serakıncı recalled his active role in the establishment of Türksoy and in naming the organization.
According to a statement from the Presidency, Eşber Serakıncı participated in the initial cultural studies that led to the establishment of Türksoy in 1993. The organization, known as the International Turkish Cultural Organization (TURKSOY), was created with the aim of bringing together Turkish states under one umbrella. The choice of the name “TURKSOY” was inspired by Serakıncı’s words, “We are all Turks, Turkish descendants.”
Overall, President Ersin Tatar’s visit highlighted the importance of cultural collaboration and unity within the Turkish world, as exemplified by the work of Eşber Serakıncı and the establishment of Türksoy.
