The Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries: A Key Player in Turkmenistan’s Oil and Gas Industry

Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry plays a crucial role in the country’s economy, with a focus on expanding its export potential. One of the key contributors to this effort is the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR), which operates under the State concern “Turkmennebit”.

The TCOR plays a significant role in refining oil using modern technological installations to produce a variety of high-quality petrochemical products that meet international standards. These products include automotive and diesel fuel, lubricants, polypropylene, and liquefied gas.

According to the regional newspaper Balkan, in 2023, the TCOR processed 4,504,557 tons of oil and produced 1,395,602 tons of gasoline, 428,867 tons of fuel kerosene, 1,390,095 tons of diesel fuel, 63,563 tons of polypropylene, 102,923 tons of liquefied gas, and 57,000 tons of lubricating oils.

The TCOR’s infrastructure is equipped with advanced facilities such as electric generating gas turbine units, seawater desalination plants, steam generators, and pumping stations, ensuring efficient production processes.

The high-quality oil and petrochemical products manufactured at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries are exported to various destinations, including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, contributing to Turkmenistan’s presence in the global market.

Overall, the TCOR continues to play a crucial role in developing Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry, making significant strides in expanding its export capabilities and contributing to the country’s economic growth.
