Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya Reacts to Building Collapse in Konya

Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya took to his social media account to address the recent building collapse in Konya Selçuklu district. In his statement, he provided details on the response efforts following the incident.

Yerlikaya stated that the emergency call about the collapsed building in Kılıçarslan District was received at the 112 Emergency Call Center at 20:05. Teams from AFAD and the Municipality quickly arrived at the scene at 20:15 to assess the situation.

A total of 99 personnel and 27 vehicles from Provincial AFAD Directorates, 120 personnel from the Fire Brigade, as well as Police, 112 Health, and Municipality teams were dispatched to the site to assist with the rescue operation.

Furthermore, a Mobile Coordination Truck from AFAD Presidency was sent to the location of the collapsed building. Teams from various AFAD Provincial Directorates across Ankara, Eskişehir, Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, Antalya, Karaman, Mersin, Niğde, Aksaray, Adana, Burdur, and Amasya were also deployed to aid in the search and rescue efforts.

Yerlikaya reassured the public that the teams are working tirelessly on the ground, and updates on the situation will be provided as they develop.

The Minister’s statement comes as a response to the ongoing crisis, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens affected by the building collapse.
