Teams Rush to Battle Forest Fire Threatening Two Cities
A fire broke out in the forest in Bozyerler District of Bergama, and another in Konakkuran District of Feke, Adana, for unknown reasons on the same day. The fire in Bergama started around 3:00 PM when people noticed smoke rising from the area and reported it to forestry teams. In response, 3 helicopters, 2 planes, 15 water tankers, 3 water supply vehicles, and 2 bulldozers from the Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region to combat the flames from the air and land.
Meanwhile, in Konakkuran District of Feke, citizens also reported a fire in the forest area at the Kıy location. Forest management directorate teams quickly responded to the scene and initiated firefighting efforts from both air and land. The teams are currently working tirelessly to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage.
Forest fires are a serious threat to the environment and wildlife, as well as nearby communities.
