Teenage Parents Cause Drama with Baby Found in Cornfield

On August 6, citizens in the central İrfanlı Neighborhood heard a baby crying in a cornfield and promptly reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health and police teams were dispatched to the area, where they found a one-day-old baby boy with his umbilical cord still attached and suffering from sun exposure.
The baby was taken to the hospital by medical personnel for urgent care. An investigation by the Provincial Police Department revealed that the baby’s mother, A.Ç. (15), had left the baby in the field out of fear after allegedly being abused by the child’s father, İ.B.C. (16).
Additionally, three other suspects, MY and HSY, were also detained in connection with the incident and taken to the courthouse for further proceedings. However, all four suspects were released on condition of judicial control by the on-call judge.
Following an objection by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, İ.BC was detained again and subsequently arrested by the judge. The baby, after receiving necessary treatment, was placed under state protection. This shocking incident highlights the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals, especially newborn babies, from harm and neglect.
